Howdy, my name is Victor Grigas. I like to capture real-life events as they are and give them visual context they need. Back in the stone age, I studied film, audio and video and have worn many hats for all of those through my career. I worked in a corporate environment for more than half a decade and sympathize with all the effort it takes to put events together. I find it challenging to take things that seem mundane and make them visually interesting. For example, take someone speaking to an audience. I always look for some way to show a depth of the space with fore, middle and background and see if there are any glares or reflections or light sources that can add context or help craft a message. I'll look for how someone speaks and how they move to try to capture that person in the best light possible. Or take people working in an office, I'll look for people using their hands pointing at screens, and frame that against the rhythm of a row of laptops or chairs with a large window for natural light. I'll mention that my father was a wedding photographer commercially and a street photographer for fun. There's a lot he taught me.
